Sydney Sweeney Confirmed as Julia Carpenter in "Madame Web"
It was speculated that Dakota Johnson would play the heroine
Months after the production of "Madame Web" concluded, Sydney Sweeney's role has finally been confirmed. In a profile published by Variety, it was revealed that the actress will portray Julia Carpenter, the second character to take on the mantles of Spider-Woman and Madame Web.
In the interview, Sweeney mentioned that she tried to read as many comics featuring her character as possible to prepare for the film. She said, "I went straight to the comic book store and bought all the comics that mentioned my character." Recently, Carpenter played a significant role in the storyline "The Rise of Sins," released in 2020 by Marvel Comics.
Before this announcement, speculation was rife, based on behind-the-scenes photos and limited information about the movie, that this role would be played by Dakota Johnson, the main lead of the film.
