It was one of the most addictive series of 2021, and now it's back with its 2nd season. We're talking about "Cruel Summer," the anthology drama series known for its distinctive feature of telling a mystery across three different timelines.

The first installment takes place during three different summers in the 1990s and follows the story of Jeanette Turner (Chiara Aurelia), a girl who was not popular until the most popular girl in her school disappears without a trace. But she quickly goes from being more popular to being the most despised when that girl is found and reveals that Jeanette didn't save her despite knowing about her whereabouts when she was kidnapped.

"Cruel Summer" returns with its 2nd season on Prime Video, specifically on August 11, with an entirely new cast and another story that deals with themes like loyalty, friendship, and betrayal. This time, the plot is set in an idyllic coastal town in the Pacific Northwest.

The story follows the rise and fall of an intense teenage friendship between two girls and a boy, told through three separate timelines in 2000. When a love triangle blooms between Megan, Isabella, and Luke, everything falls apart, considering the mystery that impacted all of their lives in the future.
