The star mentioned that the superheroine helped shape her new character.
If you're a fan of action movies and Gal Gadot, Heart of Stone is the perfect film to add to your watchlist. Set to premiere on August 11th on Netflix, the movie promises to bring something never before seen in the espionage genre - and it's already being compared to classics like the Mission: Impossible franchise. The film's lead and producer, Gadot, revealed that her inspiration came from one of the most iconic roles in her career: Wonder Woman.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Gal mentioned that she always wanted to be a part of major action franchises like The Bourne Identity and Die Hard. In a genre predominantly led by male characters, she saw an opportunity to produce the film after the success of Wonder Woman: "I had a moment of realization. I thought, 'Wait a second, men will watch [action movies directed by women too]. We can [do more], so let's do this.' I gained some confidence and we decided to start developing Heart of Stone."
Netflix Aside from co-producing the film with her husband, Yaron Varsano, Gadot also stars as the protagonist, Rachel Stone, an elite agent who harbors a major secret: she's the only person in the world capable of standing in the way of a powerful organization and the loss of her most valuable possession, the Heart. Based on the film's trailer, we can expect many breathtaking moments.
According to the star, Rachel can be described as "an incredible secret agent who enjoys the thrill and adrenaline, but at the same time, she doesn't quite fit within the system. She finds it a bit hard to follow the rules. She's like a loose cannon with a strong sense of justice, but she follows her heart."
